CSV Import FAQs

What is the maximum file size I can upload?

The maximum upload file size is 10 MB.

What’s the maximum number of employees I can upload at once?

You can import up to 5,000 rows in a single CSV file.

What details must I include in my CSV file?

At a minimum, each employee record must include:
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
We also recommend including:
  • Mobile number (useful for communication and verification)
  • Employment basis (helps with filtering and organising users)

How should I format the CSV file?

For best results, download and edit the sample CSV template provided within Flare Workplace. It includes all the required column headers and examples of how your data should look.
If you’re creating your own CSV:
  • Make sure there are no extra spaces or special characters.
  • Keep column headers consistent and correctly labelled.
  • Ensure all data is clearly organised.

What should I do if there are errors in my CSV file?

Before uploading, double-check your file for common issues such as:
  • Missing required fields
  • Incorrect email or phone formatting
  • Duplicate entries
If any errors are found during the upload, Flare will generate a downloadable CSV report outlining which rows have issues so you can fix and re-upload them.

How do I check the status of my import?

  • Small files are usually processed within a few minutes.
  • For larger imports, the process runs in the background and you’ll receive an email once it’s complete.

What happens if my import fails?

If the import is unsuccessful, you’ll be notified which rows caused the issue. You can then correct only those rows and re-upload them - no need to start over from scratch.

Can I preview the data before finalising the import?

Yes - before confirming the import, you’ll be shown a preview of the data to help you double-check everything is correct.

  • Invite expired: The invitation was not accepted within 10 days and has now expired.
